Barometric lists

Heh, your good and bad rundown reminds me of something they had us doing in the NOC starting a couple months before they laid us off.
I'd already heard a rumor that managers were going to be asked to give HR lists of staff they would cut if they had to. Presumably, these would be the same lists that manifested themselves into reality on January 16th.
At any rate, my manager's boss wanted us to start giving lists of 2 positive things and a not-so-positive thing that happened that week. Now that I think back, it would make sense that managers would want to have a closer understanding of how their subordinates were feeling while they compiled their list of layoffs.
I guess it's all rather elementary and probably more obvious to some than others. No use pondering it now, but I thought I'd share. :)

So I hobbled into the HR department yesterday to return my company assets. My manager failed to return any of the voice messages I left him last week, so I'll just have to email him to ask for his offered letter of reference. I guess they could have their hands full after having to cut 10% of their staff. In a way, I feel like I'm on the side of the fence with all the green grass and they're they ones running around trying to put out a house fire.
After my meeting with the HR lady, the same former coworker I went snowboarding day before yesterday and I went to lunch since we had our meetings right after one-another, so that was cool.

I'm glad to have stayed friends with some of my former coworkers. In fact, that could be what I have to thank for my next job if things pan out as I am hoping they will. If they don't pan out, at least I still have the awesome friends I have made along my journey and I can look forward to making new friends at my next job.
